Romford Essex RM3
Ground Floor, Side and Rear Extension
12 weeks
With two teenagers and two dogs running around, our clients were in desperate need of a kitchen extension for their Romford home. The family’s original kitchen was small and narrow, resulting in cramped and chaotic mealtimes with everyone doing their own thing.
Keen to develop their ideal family kitchen, they wanted a large open space where everyone could congregate and catch up. With two family dogs, they also wanted easy access to the garden, and if possible, a dedicated space for cleaning muddy paws.
"The new kitchen diner has become the hub of our home, which is exactly what we wanted. There’s so much space. Before, the kids would often go in another room, now we can all sit down and eat together. It’s been such a worthwhile investment – thank you Absolute Lofts!"

The final extension gave our busy family their perfect living space – a bright, airy open-plan kitchen with abundant space for a large dining table and separate lounge/chill out area.
Two giant skylights in the pitched roof give the room lovely lofty proportions, while the addition of new patio doors fill the space with natural light.
To help make life easier with the family pets, we worked with our architect to maximise space and slotted a utility room into the final design. Accessed from the side of the house, the extra room is perfect for wiping down muddy pooches, and includes ample room for a washing machine, tumble dryer and large sink. This frees up even more space in the main kitchen and minimises noise from washing appliances.
