Norwood, South East London
L-Shaped Dormer – 1 bed en-suite
10 weeks
Wanting more room for when his adult children came to stay, our client called on us to expand his period SE27 property. The loft conversion installation encompassed creating a large, contemporary master bedroom and en suite bathroom.
"Our client was keen to create an interior with a luxurious hotel feel. By using space saving tools, such as a sliding bathroom door, it was possible to leverage every inch of space, giving us room to create that spectacular glass walk-in shower."

Although older London homes are well suited to having attic conversions, some need adapting to gain the required ceiling height (a minimum of 2.2m).
In our client’s home we reconfigured the staircase, allowing enough space to build upward from the first-floor landing, and dropped the existing ceilings. This created ample headroom, giving the loft space a bright, open feel.
To make the most of the rooftop views and natural day light, double Velux skylights were installed to the front, along with feature windows to the rear. Integrated window blinds make dimming or raising the light effortless.
Taking pride of place next to the master bedroom is a new show-stopping shower room. The stylish bathroom boasts a roomy walk-in shower with rainfall showerhead. Floor-to-ceiling stone tiles and expansive glass shower enclosure add an elegant, high-end hotel feel.
As seasoned loft conversion specialists, we know all the best space saving tricks. Fitting a frosted glass sliding pocket door between the bathroom and bedroom, along with floating furniture – in this case a sleek wall-hung vanity unit – keeps the room’s look pared-back and fresh.
In the bedroom, built-in cupboards under the eaves create hidden storage without eating into valuable floor space.
The room was finished with natural wood flooring and decorated in a soft grey palette, creating a beautiful, calm retreat. Our client (and his grown-up children) were thrilled with the luxurious new loft – the question is, who’ll get to sleep in it first?!
