Our clients based in Greenwich, South East London approached Absolute Lofts to help design and build an L shape dormer to create an additional bedroom with en-suite bathroom to add space to their terraced property.
Following a site visit our surveyor advised that the ceilings to the first floor bedrooms and hallway would have to be lowered in order to meet the minimum headroom in order to conform to building control regulations.
Our clients decided to proceed with Absolute Lofts in April of this year and once designs and plans had been approved scaffold was erected in July when building works got underway.
Our clients had originally opted for windows to the new loft bedroom but once the team got to work they decided they would like to change the design and have French doors. The drawings were revised and our client had the French doors they wanted installed.
Our client had a one-year-old toddler so our team had to ensure works were carried out safely and the property was secured at all times.
Regular calls from the office as well as site visits from our supervisor were carried out during the build to check they were happy with progress. Clients feedback was always complimentary of the lads on site and commented how fast the build was coming on.
The build was completed in early September and scaffold was removed from site and final inspections completed.
The homeowners now have a light and airy additional bedroom with French doors and Juliet balcony overlooking the rear of the property and an en-suite shower room.
