Dormer – 1 bed en-suite
14 weeks
Our client wanted to turn a tired, outdated loft bedroom into a stylish space for their teenage daughter to sleep, relax and hang-out in. It also had to provide a suitably luxurious backdrop for her YouTube fashion channel. Located in Wanstead conservation area, the loft conversion also needed to meet strict planning rules to preserve the character of the home and surrounding area.
"Every single one of the Absolute Lofts Team is polite, courteous and complete workaholics! Really friendly bunch who want to give the client the best service from start to finish. Would defo recommend. "
Sarz, Homeowner.
Everything about this loft conversion was designed to maximise space and light. The open-plan design – right down to the doorless bathroom and wardrobes – makes use of every inch of space. While large windows and Velux skylights allow natural light to flood in.
In keeping with the client’s vision, the interior was designed with luxury in mind. The finished en-suite features a freestanding bath, wall-hung sink cabinet and fashionable gold brassware – the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
In the dressing room area, made-to-measure wardrobes sit snugly into the sloping ceiling, providing ample storage and display space.
To ensure continuity between the loft conversion and the rest of the home, a full-size matching staircase was installed for a seamless look. The final touch was laying pale real wood flooring throughout.
At Absolute Lofts we pay as much attention to the exterior as the interior. As the build was in a conservation area, we took extra steps to meet stringent planning regulations. As well as building an inset Dormer – one that’s inset from the sloping roof, so it doesn’t sit above the roofline – we used black conservation rooflights and natural slate cladding to complement the period style of the property.
